Plugit Finland Oy ("Plugit"), the Nordic EV charging network & solution provider, has acquired Green Stop's EV charging infrastructure to accelerate its heavy-duty charging expansion across the Nordics through the acquisition of the shares in Green Stop Sweden AB, a Swedish charging infrastructure developer focused on the heavy-duty vehicle segment. The acquisition includes Green Stop's truck charging station in Klevshult, Sweden, opened in late 2025, as well as a portfolio of secured sites ready for development into additional charging stations as the electrification of long-haul logistics progresses.
This acquisition marks a significant milestone in Plugit's expansion into the Swedish market, perfectly complementing the company's broader growth strategy. Plugit is committed to supporting professional fleets by establishing a cross-border charging network that serves both passenger vehicles and electric trucks throughout Finland and Sweden. As electric transportation grows, Plugit is focused on expanding both public and private charging solutions, so fleet operators can easily access charging when and where they need it.
Green Stop's Klevshult site, located along Sweden's main transport route E4, is designed to support the electrification of long-haul freight and logistics, providing a critical charging hub for electric trucks.
The site is equipped with eight charge points, each with an ultra-fast power output of 400 kW. In addition to the Klevshult site, Green Stop's site portfolio strengthens Plugit's charging station pipeline and enables further expansion along key transport routes in Southern Sweden.
Johan Mild, CEO of Plugit, commented:
"This acquisition is a strategic move for Plugit, accelerating the company's expansion into Sweden and strengthening its growth across the Nordics. Green Stop's solid groundwork in heavy-duty charging and scalable locations will help us meet the growing needs of logistics operators. By acquiring Green Stop's EV charging assets, we're not just expanding access to reliable charging infrastructure; we're actively laying the foundation for a truly fossil-free future in Nordic logistics."
Otto Werneskog, CEO of Green Stop Energy Group, added:
"Following the divestment of our EV charging infrastructure to Plugit, Green Stop Energy Group is now fully focused on developing solar parks and battery energy storage systems projects. By transferring the charging business to an established operator with a strong network and ambitions for the future, we enable faster expansion of charging infrastructure while concentrating on accelerating renewable energy production."
