Plugit, in collaboration with leading Nordic real estate investment firm Cibus Nordic Real Estate AB, has established a significant partnership aimed at expanding high-power electric vehicle (EV) charging infrastructure at Cibus’ retail properties throughout Finland.

In the initial phase, high-efficiency Plugit Charging stations will be installed at 41 Cibus-owned properties across Finland, enabling Cibus and its tenants, in partnership with Plugit, to offer high-quality, high-power EV charging services to end-customers visiting these properties.

Charging solutions will be implemented in collaboration with willing tenants, such as Tokmanni. At all locations, the 180 kW high-power charging stations will also include 22 kW mid-level charging options, providing sufficient power for quick charging during short visits for EV drivers, including hybrid vehicles. The most economical charging experience will be available via the Plugit APP mobile application or charging tag, with high-power charging priced between €0.35-0.39/kWh, and mid-level charging priced at €0.28/kWh.

The installation of charging stations will begin in September 2024, with the initial phase targeting the opening of approximately 30 Plugit Charging stations by the end of 2024, co-located with Cibus’ long-term tenant, Tokmanni. The charging station network will support both basic and high-power charging, addressing the diverse needs of EV users. This network expansion supports Finland’s growing EV market and meets the increasing demand for charging infrastructure.

Lauri Keskinen, Head of Charging as a Service at Plugit Finland Oy, commented on the partnership:
“This is a major investment for us. Collaborating with Cibus is a pivotal step in expanding the Plugit Charging network. With these 41 new locations, we can offer EV drivers even better access to charging facilities across Finland. High-power charging stations, in particular, bring speed and convenience to EV driving, fostering the growth of electric vehicle adoption.”

Lauri Tiensuu, Chief Operating Officer of Cibus Nordic Real Estate AB, emphasized the property owner’s role in supporting sustainable development:
“As a real estate investor, we are committed to supporting the green transition and sustainable development. Our collaboration with tenants and Plugit aligns with our goal of moving towards a carbon-neutral future and responsible business practices. Installing Plugit chargers adds value for our tenants and their customers and supports the long-term value of our properties.”

Harri Koponen, Director of Store Network and Concept at Tokmanni, remarked:
“We are dedicated to offering our customers responsible and convenient services. Enhancing the availability of efficient charging options at our stores is a natural extension of these efforts. Collaboration with Plugit Finland enables us to provide modern, fast charging solutions precisely where our customers need them, addressing daily needs.”
