Plugit Finland Oy has strengthened its management team by appointing Miika Murremäki as Chief Technology Officer from 6 January 2025. Miika has extensive experience in international technology companies, especially in the development and commercialisation of digital solutions and services. He joins Plugit from Kalmar as Head of Digital Solutions.
“Digital solutions form the core of Plugit’s business. We are strengthening our management team to accelerate the achievement of our customers’ own value chain net-zero emissions targets,” says Tommi Saarela. “Our goal is to build a comprehensive, data-driven public charging network in the Nordic countries by 2028. Miikka’s experience and future contribution will play a key role in achieving this goal.”
“The electrification and digitalisation of industry is close to my heart. I feel that my background and experience as a technology change leader will be of great help to the company at this very moment. It is a pleasure to be part of Plugit’s growth story,” says Miika Murremäki. “The company’s digital journey to become a Nordic charging operator requires a strong strategic technology roadmap. This includes hands-on development work together with customers.”
Growth from geographical expansion
Plugit currently operates mainly in Finland, but the company is targeting the Nordic countries, especially Sweden, as well as the Baltic and partly Polish markets. In Sweden, business has already started and the country organisation is being strengthened. Managed expansion into neighbouring markets is one of the cornerstones of the company’s strategy.
Since the beginning of 2022, Plugit has been majority-owned by the global infrastructure investor DIF Capital Partners, which is investing around EUR 100 million in the company to grow the e-mobility market in the Nordic and Baltic countries, with a significant positive impact on reducing carbon emissions.
